Last night everyone went crazy over a Trump Tweet from
Vietnam:
"Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me ‘old,’ when I would NEVER call him ‘short and fat?’ Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend -- and maybe someday that will happen!”
I'm no water carrier for Trump, who's ideologically all over the map and who insists on surrounding himself
with people who despise him -- a truly inexplicable move.
But all the "he's not presidential" caterwauling is a bit much.
We want our presidents to be polite as they're dropping bombs, apparently.
These critics want to get back to traditional "presidential" activity, like the invasion of Iraq, the internment of Japanese Americans, the confiscation of Americans' gold, the lies about babies being thrown out of Kuwaiti incubators, the bombing of Serbia over bogus claims, the destruction of Libya, the support for the virtual genocide in Yemen, etc.
Now _that's_
presidential, according to the media and political classes. Quit the Twitter taunts and get bombing, seems to be the message.
It's astonishing how much commentary a single Tweet from this guy can generate.
For regular people like you and me, grabbing people's attention online is much more
