As Gary North has pointed out, mid-level employees are usually dispensable, and often
get the ax during a recession.
How can you avoid the ax?
By starting your own "industry expert" blog site -- yet another of the many ways having your own blog can help you.
Almost no one else will do this. You will become viewed as a leader in your industry. Or focus very specifically on what your company does, and
become the undisputed leader in your niche.
No one in his right mind is going to give an industry leader a pink slip.
Dr. North recommends: start by summarizing relevant articles, with a link to each article.
Move on to book reviews.
Then, eventually, your
own original content.
No one else will do this. That's because almost no one ever takes action. You will.
Step one of this strategy just got less painful:
On Wednesday and Thursday of this week (the 13th and 14th), Bluehost is holding a special event for my readers
only: web hosting for just $2.95 per month for 12 months.
Normally, to get a monthly price that low you have to pay in advance for 36 months.
But on those two days my readers (and mine only -- nobody else will have access to this deal) can get that ridiculous rate for just a 12-month commitment.
While you're
waiting, check out my step-by-step guide to starting your own blog:
