My old friend John Rao, who holds a doctorate in history from Oxford, puts
it this way:
"Most people, throughout history, do absolutely nothing. They're playing video games."
All the successes I've had have come from breaking free of routine and doing something different. Something no "job" required me to do.
No job required me to create free eBooks to build an email list. Or start a podcast. Or figure out how to be an effective affiliate marketer. Or create products.
It took initiative to do these things.
And thanks to these
things, I lead a much more comfortable, stress-free life than I once did.
The thing you need to do? Start a blog site, for these (and other) reasons:
(1) It improves your writing.
(2) It can establish you as an expert.
(3) It distinguishes you from everyone else -- if your blog site is related to your business, you may well be the only person running a blog about your field. This distinguishes you from the paper pushers.
(4) It gives you a home base from which to sell future products, most of which you may not be able to imagine right now.
(5) It gives you a home base from which, on an
affiliate basis, to pitch relevant products to your followers.
There are other reasons. But those should be enough.
What holds most people back? They think it's too hard, and they don't know where to start.
I can have you up and running in five minutes with the video on this page (which also explains how you can get free publicity and traffic from me for your new site):
Now's the time to act, because today and tomorrow only, Bluehost is holding a special event for my readers: web hosting for just $2.95 per month for 12 months.
Normally, to get a monthly price that low you have to pay in advance for 36 months.
But on those two days my readers (and mine only -- nobody else will have access to this deal) can get that ridiculous rate for just a 12-month commitment.
Don't play video games.
Act.
