Imagine debating genuine communists every single night before
dinner.
That was my life as a college freshman.
There they were, standing there outside the dining hall, denouncing "capitalism" and celebrating the Bolshevik Revolution.
It's not in my DNA to let that
stand. So I argued with them. You will be shocked to learn: I made no converts.
I even went to one of their meetings. (This would have been 1990-91.) I'm not joking: they actually passed around a collection plate to raise money to help keep the Soviet Union from breaking apart.
I have no idea what
they did with that $9.37, but it evidently wasn't enough.
Meanwhile, my interactions with them only hardened my resolve, and made me a more dedicated capitalist.
And there's never been an easier time to be a capitalist than right now. Without leaving the comfort of my home, I can earn a nice affiliate
income by following certain steps (and avoiding others).
And there's no employer to "exploit" me! The commies should love it (but probably don't).
Meanwhile, most people don't even know this world exists.
