If you're like me, you're amazed at how many times
the truth turns out to be the very opposite of what you've always assumed.
For example: ugly sells.
Nobody ever taught you that principle.
Yet time and again, for example, people have tested
sleek, amazing looking landing pages against plain, even ugly landing pages. And more often than not, ugly wins.
I have a theory as to why that is, but my theory isn't the point right now.
The fact is, we have sorely underrated ugly.
I have a couple of friends who make (let's face it) ugly things.
(I can say that because I'm sure they don't subscribe to this list.)
And yet, this particular kind of ugly thing -- which, I promise you, absolutely anyone on
Earth can make -- sells consistently.
It's the kind of thing your kids could even do, and in the process get a valuable education about business.
