Christina Hoff Sommers, who's been a guest on my
show, is an accomplished academic who dissents from the "gender studies" mainstream. (Who doesn't?)
She's been critical of feminism, which is really not allowed.
So students shouted and sang during her recent talk at Lewis and Clark Law School. They insisted that the gender pay gap was real (it
isn't), and that Sommers was a "fascist."
(If even one of these kids could define fascism, I'd be floored.)
According to Sommers, the "Diversity Dean" (whatever that is) "approached [the] podium in middle of my talk [and] asked me to wrap up my speech [and] take questions. I was never able to develop my argument. Shouldn’t the dean have insisted protesters allow me to finish, rather
than cut the speech short?”
Meanwhile, someone in my private Facebook group pointed out that his firm just sent out a memo explaining how people should celebrate International Women's Day.
It was the usual fact-free, ideologically charged platitudes, posturing as the only legitimate opinions on
the subject. Because, of course, if you don't buy the propaganda, you "hate women."
I "hate women"? Nope, just stupidity.
Blech.
The more I'm able to support myself outside the academic-corporate Axis of
Evil, the less I have to deal with insane people.
Here's a great way to do it:
