These days, I understand that war is a
particularly horrific government program.
Growing up, I thought it was like a neat video game I could watch from the comfort of my home. (Roger Waters lampooned this common form of callousness in his underrated album Amused to Death -- particularly the track "The Bravery of Being Out of Range.")
Then
I learned the truth, and realized I could actually be consistent: I didn't like what the regime did at home _or_ abroad.
Here's another thing I was wrong about:
Work.
I used to think staying busy,
keeping a perpetually growing number of projects on my plate, and never really relaxing, was the best way to live.
Well, it ain't.
Not only that, but I completely overlooked ways I could accomplish just as much, and without putting myself into an early grave.
I discussed this in what I consider a very valuable conversation with a highly successful online salesman and affiliate.
I strongly advise that you find the time to listen to this.
Stop killing yourself.
I sure am glad I did.
