It doesn't matter if you like Alex Jones or
not.
I've been on his show a couple of times, and he treated me respectfully.
I also get that Facebook and AppleĀ are private companies, blah blah blah.
That doesn't mean we can't criticize what they do.
And we darn well should. If you think this is an
isolated case, and only Alex Jones will be targeted, you are deluded.
Some libertarians, in order to make certain everyone knows they dislike Alex Jones, have been chuckling about his situation.
Talk about tone deaf.
Alex Jones is the tip of the iceberg of what we can expect in the future, if things don't change.
Yesterday the executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity was suspended from Twitter, as was libertarian foreign policy expert Scott Horton. Peter Van Buren, a great foreign-policy writer I've had on my show, seems to have been removed permanently.
In general, there is a huge opportunity waiting for an entrepreneur who wants to build a platform where people can just talk to each other, and which doesn't try to be our mother.
(I know about Gab and Minds.com, and perhaps one of them can fill this role.)
In the meantime:
Time's a-wastin'
when it comes to building up your own online presence. Do not rely on platforms that can suffocate you overnight.
Build your own thing.
And better yet, earn from it.
Do this, now:
