I don't usually mail so late, so this is now officially a bedtime story.
It begins like this:
I'm a libertarian, so I have my share of weird friends.
But this one has a special place in my heart.
One of the email lists I'm on paid tribute a few years ago to one of the all-time greats, a real OG, in Internet marketing.
I had never heard of the guy. But I thought: I don't want to be an ignoramus, so I'll click through and find out about him.
I have never met anyone like him, before or since.
It's Marlon Sanders, who's been making sales online since before Paul Krugman said the effect of the Internet on the economy would prove to be no greater than that of the fax machine.
Anyway:
I went to the sales page for Marlon's training and read every word. Even if I didn't want the product, just reading that work of art was an education for me.
And I didn't want the product.
I didn't need it. I already knew the information he was teaching in it.
Then I reached the end of the sales page.
And at the end was a link: "Click here if you have decided not to buy."
I had to click.
I was taken to a video of Marlon.
Marlon has a personality unlike any you have come across. He's kind of yelling in the video, and then you realize that's just how he talks. And his brain contains every sales and marketing and business insight you can imagine.
I was spellbound watching this guy. And at the end he just walks off camera, his final sentence trailing off. No "you must buy this right now," no "time is running out," nothing.
I sensed no neediness on his part at all. He was making me an offer, and if I was smart I was going to take it. If not, well, what are you going to do. That was the attitude.
So I bought.
Since then I've followed him very closely and the two of us stay in fairly regular contact.
He has ten times the knowledge I have, at least.
Here's the point:
One of Marlon's friends recently fell on hard times. He knew Marlon made his living on his own terms, without a boss, and equipped only with his computer.
He asked what advice Marlon had for him. Is there anything you can teach me that would get me started?
So Marlon set out a four-step plan for his friend and sent it to him.
And because Marlon has a marketer's brain, he thought: I can make a product out of this, because other people would probably also like to see this simple system.
Not a system that requires no work, by the way. Such a system does not exist. But simple in that it involves few steps and is not complicated.
I endorse the four steps 100 percent. Absolutely 100 percent.
Now:
If you should pick up Marlon's four-step system, he'a throwing in a live session this Friday where he walks you through the steps on screen, and shows you real-life examples of the steps being followed.
He will then answer any questions you have about it.
He did this last week but he's doing another one for my folks this Friday.
He does not try to sell you anything in this live session (not that there would be anything wrong with that). It's just Marlon and you, and after it's over you can ask him anything you want.
If you don't love this guy and instantly know he's giving you insane value, I owe you a Coke.
The tools we have today to make a living on our own terms would have been beyond belief to any previous generation. There is no excuse for us to let them go unused.
So:
Want simple, taught by one of the all-time greats and a guy with an oddball but irresistible personality, so you can stop spinning your wheels and start in on something lasting?
