What I saw on the street last night was not encouraging.
We're in Los Angeles for a few days. I completely understand why in the abstract someone might want to live in California in general and Los Angeles in particular.
But yikes.
We needed to catch an Uber. I opened the app. It said that masks were still required in our area.
That's all right. We'll walk.
And walk we did, through a portion of the downtown area where
we found ourselves surrounded by profoundly lost souls everywhere we turned.
And just steps from our hotel -- a fairly nice one, by the way -- is a tent city.
My wife is an especially sensitive soul who grieves over these tragedies.
Moments like these remind me of how intractable some social problems are, and that even the cleverest among us cannot solve them. (There will be lost souls even in Ancapistan, dear friend.)
As intellectuals, we're tempted to think that by applying reason to a problem, a workable solution must emerge. It is not so.
I have to be content with the more limited goals I can accomplish. I try my best to give people a fact-based alternative to the elites' narrative, and I try to give people options for relying less on The Machine for their income. That doesn't fix the streets of L.A., but I tell myself: it's all that I know how to do, and it's better than nothing.
As it happens, today is the final call for the great Kevin Fahey's 100K/Year Made Simple, an inexpensive program that will help a lot of people.
Inside, Kevin (one of a handful of people I myself go to for advice) breaks down every aspect of his business -- a common Internet marketing-based business -- and shows how he does each
step.
Now normally I would cringe at a product with such a name. But as I've said: Kevin isn't a b.s. artist. There's nothing "click your mouse three times a day and make $300" about what he teaches. As with anything, work is required, and you should refuse to believe me if I ever tell you there isn't.
But at least you'll know what work to do, and how not to waste your time. Speaking for myself, I can say I value my mental health a lot.
I recorded my own brief video series to fill in a few areas where Kevin inadvertently assumes prior knowledge. His program is accessible to anyone in tandem with my videos. Get them by forwarding your receipt to
