Today I have something for you that in the past I've tried to convince you does not exist.

There are plenty of b.s. artists out there who claim to be able to teach you how to generate income while "doing nothing."

There is no such thing. We all know that. People get sucked into it because they're chasing something they want to be true.

Yet today I genuinely have a way to generate dough without doing anything.

I'm not joking.

You may say, "Woods, this cannot be."

Trust me, I hear you.

But:

This month I'm getting a check for $296.97 from this. My wife is getting a check for just under $109.

So not exactly enough to live on, but considering that we did absolutely nothing to earn this $400+, I'll take it.

It used to be called Ebates (a brilliant name), but the new owners inexplicably changed that perfect name to Rakuten.

With Rakuten I do all my ordinary shopping -- via sites like Instacart, Orbitz (which I use for all my travel), all the major department stores, really pretty much anything you'd want to buy -- as I always do, except I now earn a small cash-back reward with every purchase.

The reason it works is this: all these companies have invitation-only referral programs. Rakuten belongs to them all. When you make a purchase, Rakuten earns a commission -- and shares it with you.

This has meant $6,144 back in my pocket since I started using it.

These are purchases I make anyway. I am doing nothing extra here. I can either leave this dough on the table, or I can take it.

I have chosen option #2.
