It's bad enough that Michael Malice makes fun of my for my free eBooks. Now my own kids are doing it!

You probably know I release eBooks on a regular basis. They are a great way to get the word out about what I do, drive traffic to my website, offers, and podcast, and build my email list (which all you serious folks out there will need someday, if you don't have one already).

At the roast of me at my 1000th Tom Woods Show episode event, my daughter Veronica took direct aim at the eBooks.

Then, not long ago, while playing a game of Quiplash, the question was: "A really unsuccessful booth at the fair," and one of the answers my kids gave was: "For Sale: Dad's eBooks."

(Don't worry: it's all in good fun, and I give back as good as I get.)

Being able to crank out attractive eBooks and reports is -- I am not joking -- very much at the heart of what I and many other successful folks do online. So much good follows from them.

But...

...they are a pain.

Here are the hideous ten steps:

1. Go to your favorite freelance site 2. Post a job to get someone to write and design your ebook (takes an hour) 3. Wait 2-3 days for applications to come in 4. Go through applications, portfolios and feedback 5. Spend more time talking to potential candidates 6. Shortlist entries and then hire someone (1 week later) 6. Fund milestones and wait for first draft 7. Ask for changes because they missed something 8. Wait another 3 days for them to come back to you after the weekend 9. Get something “close” to what you expected but it’ll have to do (sigh) 10. Pay them anywhere from 300 to 600 bucks for it.

Take my hand, friend, because I am about to walk you into a new world in which you can take those ten steps, roll them into a ball, and burn it.
