But that doesn't mean passive income is a myth.

 

Here's an example, from a strategy I use:

 

After people join this list, they're given an opportunity to purchase an excellent course on the tech side of Internet marketing, and I price it at a level at which it's essentially irresistible.

 

Once I have it set up, the money it generates requires no extra work on my part. I'm sending people to my squeeze pages to get them to sign up for my mailing list anyway. Now that I've given them the option to buy something after they've done so, the resulting revenue is genuinely passive.

 

Since 2016, when I started doing this, I've brought in an extra $113,000 this way.

Now if we break that down on a per-year basis, it's true that that's no substitute for your annual income. But since it's income that was generated with legitimately no effort on my part (I have never promoted this course in any way other than simply making it available after people opt in to my list), it's not too shabby.

 

Your results will vary, of course. But the point remains: why not give people something to buy when they've already indicated an interest in you?

 

And here's the punchline: that course I sell is a Private Label Rights (PLR) product. I didn't even have to create the course! I bought the rights to it and make it available for sale as my own (rebranded) product.
