Nine years ago, Ron Paul did something clever to kick off his new homeschool curriculum.
He released a book: The School Revolution: A New Answer for Our Broken Education System.
The book had lots of actionable information in it. But it was also a promo for the new curriculum. It was a brilliant business move.
Fast forward to 2022.
I was set to launch the Tom Woods School of Life, by far
my most important project ever. I sought out the great Ken McCarthy, godfather of Internet marketing, for marketing advice.
He said: you're not going to like what I'm about to tell you.
And what was that?
I needed to write a book, he said.
A book would give this new business exactly the burst of energy and publicity it needed.
I had no energy or desire to write a book, though. So I ignored his advice. The launch
still went very well, but I can't help wondering: what if I'd done it?
A book can do wonders for a business. But for many people, the idea of writing one seems overwhelming. And then marketing it to the world? Forget it.
We're going to
help you in our special session tomorrow on precisely these topics.
