I have some good news for you.
You will soon be spared any further Frankenstein commentary.
Last night we watched what is generally believed to be the last of the great
Frankenstein films: Son of Frankenstein (1939). It did very well at the box office.
It's the last film to feature Boris Karloff, who decided that the character had exhausted its potential.
To my mind it's the best of the series, even if
there's a continuity problem (why has the monster forgotten all the words he learned in Bride of Frankenstein, from 1935?).
As with all of these films the ending is rather abrupt, but Son of Frankenstein is longer than the first two films, and at 100 minutes is the length of a standard film of our own time.
In that 100 minutes the son of Dr. Frankenstein seeks to rehabilitate his father's name by returning to his work and teaching the world what it can learn from the functioning of this reanimated creature.
Never fully explained is why this son of Dr. Frankenstein, who understands
that the original problem with the creature was the use of an abnormal brain, never replaces the brain.
Anyway, I think you'll find it 100 minutes well spent.
But don't even think about watching it this week. Son of Frankenstein you
have with you always, but my webinar with Matt McWilliams is about to disappear.
I shared lots of insights from years of making my living using this miracle Internet thing, and Matt shared a ton of info of his own.
Here's how you can
have a business even without having a product to sell -- the main obstacle facing most newbies.
