I'm getting ready to head to Dubai next week, a place I've never visited before.
I've been told it's a fake city with no history and no culture, and where 90% of the people are expats.
I don't know if that's entirely true, but if it is, then the vibe is going to be quite different from what I got over the past few years when visiting Vienna, Stockholm, and more recently Madrid and Seville.
Either way, we're looking forward to it. We have friends there it will be nice to catch up with.
Of course, the beauty of what we discuss on this list is that you can do all of it from a bustling cultural center, an utter wasteland, or somewhere in between.
You're not tied to any particular place. Or time of day, for that matter.
Or some creep's arbitrary dictates.
