It's not the Federal Reserve or the World Economic Forum.
It's time.
Time is merciless.
Once lost, it can never be regained. It is, as Ludwig von Mises described it, an "irreversible flux."
You and I complain about the time we
waste pointlessly scrolling on social media -- or, even worse, trying to convince the strangers we meet there of the truth of various abstract propositions.
And yet we keep right on doing it.
The enriching things we could be doing instead of this just pass us by.
I am spending a portion of the time I once devoted to social media to learning a new language. I think that will be better for my mind and for my mental
health than all that scrolling.
I have something very specific you should do instead of scrolling.
Once a year the world's foremost expert on membership sites, Stu McLaren, holds a no-pitch, no-cost workshop on how to build a membership -- that is, a site that generates revenue for you month after month.
This is vastly more important than the 90 minutes a day you
probably don't realize you're spending on social media. This is your life we're talking about. If you don't prioritize it, who will?
Last year, reader Samantha D. wrote to say:
Hi Tom - Just wrapping up day one and I’m gobsmacked! SO MUCH VALUE. I actually feel like I can do this!! Thanks for beating us over the head with this day after day =)
One person
actually launched a membership DURING THE WORKSHOP and welcomed ten members during that time.
There are things you do all the time that can be turned into a membership.
Like the youth pastor who writes sermon outlines (because he has to anyway) and then makes them available to other youth pastors as part of a membership.
Or the math
teacher who does likewise for her lesson plans.
Note: she doesn't have to be the world's greatest math expert or the world's greatest teacher. They just have to be good lesson plans.
You can do this even if you're a beginner, even if you're unsure of your niche, and even if you're not a techie. This is 2023, and what would have been excruciatingly difficult in 1995 is a breeze today.
We have let ourselves become
slaves to our devices. Instead, make that device serve you, by reserving your spot right now and making absolutely sure to attend:
