Well, thankfully we didn't lose the power yesterday after all, but it was a close one.

More interestingly: if you surveyed the Woods home this very minute, you'd never suppose 80+ people had been here for a five-hour party. The place is spotless. No abandoned cups or glasses, no plates of food, no overflowing trash cans, nothing.

How do I do it?

Here's my secret.

I hire someone, but not to clean up after the fact.

Instead, it's this person's job over the course of the night to make sure the trash cans are emptied, the plates, napkins, and cups are fully stocked, that there's enough bottled water for everyone in our big bucket, that the bathrooms have sufficient toilet paper and paper towels, etc. And to pick up trash here and there and make sure the trash cans are emptied regularly.

That means I don't have to worry about any of that and can just enjoy the party. It also means that when people leave, it's as if they'd never been there.

That's life hack #442 for you.
