That show has a massive, dedicated following even today.
But when it was first produced, it got through three seasons and the network decided it wasn't going anywhere.
Why?
Poor ratings.
They had a great show on their hands, a show that would eventually bring out a fierce dedication in a large fan base, but they could not get eyeballs on it.
What makes you think you could do any better?
If even Star Trek gets canceled for lack of viewers, what hope do any of us have?
That's why
you have to have a plan. You can't just build something and cross your fingers in the hope of someone seeing it.
You can have a great business idea with your own products, or an affiliate business where you sell someone else's or whatever it is. But if you can't get people there, all that sweat equity will wind up amounting to $0.
Then you have to explain to your spouse all that wasted time, and why nothing is going anywhere, and it's hideous.
Now look, I know there's nothing sexy or exciting about traffic training. But ol' Woods here needs to tell you, gently: you just have to eat your broccoli, so to speak. You need to learn this. If you
don't have a traffic plan, it's over for you before it starts.
Kevin Fahey's Free Traffic Shotgun is an inexpensive training on this very topic, complete with case studies in which Kevin starts from zero and eventually generates income-producing traffic, without paying for it.
It's very briefly on a launch discount, which is about to end, so I highly recommend getting and implementing it:
