I can't stand offers that tell me things like, "Earn $X by working five minutes a day, no experience necessary!"
Go jump in a lake, loser.
But.
There actually is something you can do whereby you can legitimately earn income for doing nothing.
I can already hear the objections -- and I totally understand them.
Woods, what are you on about? This must be
some kind of scam.
Oh, no, my friend. It most certainly is not. I've been doing it for years.
In the old days it was called Ebates, a great name.
Now it's called Rakuten, a terrible name.
The idea is: you do your usual shopping. Say, at Instacart, or Orbitz (where I make all my travel arrangements), or buying flowers or clothes or whatever. Shopping you would be doing anyway.
Rakuten has joined the affiliate programs of all of these stores. So whenever you shop, Rakuten shares its affiliate income from your purchases with you. It's a brilliant idea.
Today I received a check from them for around $240. These come every six to eight weeks.
So it's true that I won't be able to retire on the income, but why wouldn't I want it? That's a nice night out, for nothing.
