And yet the best ideas I've ever had have come from other people.
Liberty Classroom has been around for 12 years. A friend suggested I do it. That's a natural: I've written bestselling books on history and economics, so why not courses? And the thing sells itself: here's what the SOBs didn't teach you
in school.
Yet if I'd had a million years I wouldn't have thought of it. Didn't have an entrepreneurial bone in my body.
So that was just luck -- I happened to have smart friends.
My Tom Woods School of Life, the capstone not just of my career but indeed of my life, was suggested to me by a world-famous executive
coach who'd known me for precisely one hour and fifty-five minutes when he suggested it.
That was a case of making my own luck: I had shelled out some dough to meet with Jay Abraham, so no surprise I got a life-changing idea out of it.
The point is this: if I hadn't taken that active step I would never have had that major breakthrough, I wouldn't have been able to help all
the people the School of Life helps, and I myself wouldn't be nearly as comfortable or fulfilled.
Now don't get me wrong: the old man here comes up with plenty of good ideas on his own. But going out of my way to put myself in the presence of people who are better at all this than I am is what made all the difference.
Humility. It helps.
We're launching a virtual mastermind for those folks who may have been drawn to my in-person mastermind but couldn't make it work.
You'll be with exactly the kinds of people who can make dramatic changes for you, and take you to the proverbial next level.
Interested? We're having an informational session about it this week.
The link below, which happens to include a rare shot of the old man here wearing a baseball cap and T-shirt, is where to click if you'd like to check it out:
