When the neocons were at their height, I noticed
something about them: they supported each other.
Whenever some neocon mediocrity would release a book, they'd pull out all the stops to promote it: the foundations, the TV shows, the radio shows, the blogs, the social media accounts, everything.
That's a major reason for why some of these books would succeed. These were not exactly works of genius, to put it kindly. But they
had a network of people and institutions that supported them.
Our side, on the other hand, is not known for working together like that.
So if you have a network of people who are in a position to help you, either directly by partnering with you or indirectly by giving you lucrative ideas or making valuable connections for you, you are way, way ahead of the game.
Everybody else is sitting around watching things happen for other people, like the various no-talent authors whose stars rose because of their connections.
I for one don't like sitting around watching other people collaborate for their mutual success. I'd rather build something like that myself.
