The bad news stories
are so relentless sometimes that I understand why some people finally just give up.
The obstacles are too great, the bad guys are too sinister, and the chances of victory too slim. May as well just play video games and not even bother.
I don't look at it that way.
I intend to fight regardless of the chances of success, because it's the right thing to do and my temperament is such that I can't not fight.
But more than that:
I can find freedom even in this unfree world if I am determined to look. Whether it's my health, my kids' education, my finances, my employment, and scores of other areas, I can have a deeply rewarding and fulfilling life no matter who sits in the White House.
And I can also build parallel institutions (like Liberty Classroom or the Ron Paul Curriculum) for those Americans who aren't brain dead and who thirst for alternatives. In so doing, I give them more freedom.
The bastards want you demoralized and hopeless, and in one way or another dependent on them.
Why not surround yourself instead with smart and ambitious people who strive for something better, and who can encourage and help you achieve the same?
We should do something, people used to say, and not just write letters to the editor.
Well, we're doing something now, so time to hop on board:
