Last week I was on a business call while on a
drive with my wife.
The people on the phone and I were kicking around ways we could work together. My wife came up with the two best ideas of the whole call.
This is not unusual. She's extremely sharp.
But I was reminded again: so many of my best ideas have come from other people.
Liberty Classroom: someone else. The Ron Paul Curriculum: someone else. The School of Life: someone else. My try-before-you-buy training program last year: someone else. And believe me, the list goes on.
Now I do have plenty of good ideas, don't get me wrong. But the ones above were truly life-changing, and I don't know where I'd be today without them.
In most of those cases, I made my own luck. I put myself in situations and in circles of people where I'd be most likely to get the kind of ideas that could take me to the next level.
Last month I implemented an idea I got from my in-person mastermind group, to name another example. Someone there mentioned the idea in passing and a couple of us were intrigued. I decided to try it right away.
(I'll tell you what it was very soon.)
By the time we have our next meeting (in Las Vegas -- we meet in a different city each time to keep things fun) I'll be able to report on how it did.
So far I'd say the signs are pretty darn good.
If you have a business you'd like to take
to the next level, step one is up to you: surround yourself with the kind of people who can get you there.
Join my friends and me in a different city every few months and in addition to having a blast together we'll help each other reach the next level, and the one after that.
