Our surprise trip to Austin, planned for us by a
company called Pack Up + Go, comes to an end tomorrow.
But last night we enjoyed an outstanding meal at a place with the unlikely name Barley Swine.
Eight courses (and we purchased an optional ninth course). Delicious, great presentation, great atmosphere, the works.
Except at dessert time.
For dessert, we were presented with "house made strawberry and celery dippin dots."
The "and celery" part is where I objected.
Sometimes fine dining tries too hard. It has to be unusual and chic. It can't just serve a traditional old favorite. It has to put some twist on it.
And I don't hold that against them. That instinct is
what made the other courses so memorable. But celery?
Want a bowl of celery ice cream, dear reader?
When the waitress came to pick up our final plates and ask us how we'd enjoyed the evening, I said this was the best restaurant we'd been to in Austin, that every course was outstanding, that the service couldn't have been better, and so on.
But then I said: "I'm just being honest with you here, though: nobody wants
celery ice cream. I think they're trying too hard back there."
We all laughed. But I was surprised that I'd actually said something instead of answering, "Oh, everything was great."
When it comes to my little online businesses, on the other hand, I generally stick to the tried and true, the business equivalent of apple pie a la mode. I know the basic models that work, and I
simply adopt them.
One of those models is, yes, affiliate marketing. I assure you it's a very pleasant experience to be out grocery shopping and receive a notification that you just earned, say, a $37 commission.
Tomorrow night the launch of Kevin Fahey's excellent and very inexpensive instructional program on how to start and succeed as an affiliate comes to an end. Between
now and then the price very slowly inches upward to its final resting spot, so I recommend getting it ASAP.
Because remember my bonus: on Black Friday this year, the day Liberty Classroom sells by far the most memberships, you will earn 100% commissions on any sales through your affiliate link instead of the standard 50% rate.
Someone clicks on your link and buys the master
membership, you get all $297. You don't split it with me 50/50. On that magical day, as your bonus for picking up Affiliate Takeover, you get the whole thing. All $297. Every time someone clicks your link and buys.
Forward your receipt to bonuses@tomwoods.com and we'll get you set up, but remember, the thing ends tomorrow:
