Last week a mysterious package showed up at my door. I wasn't expecting anything, so I wondered what it could be. 

 

I opened it up, and it was three very high quality kitchen knives. I knew I hadn't ordered any knives, but I can certainly use them. 

 

Then I found the note. 

 

They were from a member of my Junior Mastermind, writing to thank me for how much I and the group had helped his business. He knows better than almost anyone how much a group like this can help a business make strides.

 

Now there's no question that I've had some good ideas of my own over the years. But the major leaps forward in my life and business have come from the ideas of others. That's just a fact.

 

Had I simply coasted along, every day doing the same thing I had done the previous one, I would have had a comfortable life, to be sure, but oblivious to how much better a life I might have had.

 

Instead of simply expecting roughly the same results as last week and the week before, what would it be like on a regular basis to get some new idea, some new insight, some new strategy to try out that has the prospect of taking everything to the next level?

 

Life would suddenly become a lot more exciting, would it not? Barriers to what we once assumed was possible would begin to dissolve.

 

What I am offering you is a pattern interrupt. Something that deliberately gets in the way of your routine and makes you think in new and original ways.

 

There's nothing like it.

 

Now the easiest thing in the world would be to delete this email and think nothing of it. 

 

But since when is the easy path the one that generates results? 

 

If it were, everyone would be a millionaire. 

 

Plus, If you're the kind of person who understands the value of this, you know who you are. You know I am speaking to you. You know this just might be that thing you need to do to pull you out of that rut.

 

And by "rut," I don't mean you're not successful. Our people generally are successful. I mean you want to learn new and different things to try to get new and different results.
