I've been writing on my Twitter account about the
various Trump appointments, some of which have driven me completely up a wall.
Now I will have more to say about it tomorrow in my note to my political email list, but I wanted to say a word about it here on the business list as well:
The appointment of RFK, Jr., to head the Department of Health and Human Services is to my mind the most courageous cabinet appointment of my
lifetime.
Nothing is more certain than a string of screeching, ignorant attacks from people who hate having their orthodoxies thrown into question. In fact, they've already begun.
The left-liberal confidence in existing orthodoxies, whether on foreign policy, health, nutrition, climate, whatever, borders on the cultish, which is why dissident voices who are unconvinced by
these orthodoxies are treated like heretics.
What could be more obvious than that there is something wrong with the existing health establishment and existing nutritional guidelines?
And yet these misnamed progressives, who are actually the bitterest dead-end defenders of the status quo, refuse to allow any conversation about it.
The fact is, the establishment has failed at everything it has tried. Its nutritional guidelines are a joke, as I note in Tom Woods Show episode #2569, which will be released about an hour from now. The public health establishment is downright destructive. The foreign policy establishment is hopeless. The academic establishment is full of embarrassing frauds.
So there was bound to come a time at which dissident
thinkers were finally given a chance to take a crack at things.
Again, I will have much more to say about this tomorrow morning.
For now:
Strictly speaking, freedom is merely the absence of coercion. But in terms of my life, I think of freedom -- with Harry Browne -- more broadly. When I enjoy good health, for
example, I am freer than if I were chained down by disease or fatigue. With good friends whose ambitions and intellects and talents inspire me toward further personal growth, I am freer than I would be if all my friends did all day was complain and gripe and exhaust me spiritually.
And I am likewise freer than I would otherwise be when I pursue work and income unencumbered by large bureaucracies or woke human resource departments, and
when I am able to choose my hours and travel at will.
So that means that the way I and many of my readers make our livings is as unconventional as what RFK has to say about health.
My subscribers for these emails are people who either do likewise or who aspire to doing likewise someday or who have some interest in building something online on the side as a kind of
insurance policy for themselves.
So I try to come up with things that will help people do that more effectively.
As you know, I have been offering resell rights on an ebook, which means you pay me once, and then you get the ebook not only for your own edification but also as something you can sell, keep all the profits, and never owe me another dime.
I'm even including the text of a sales page you can use.
You think having an entire book already written for you might save you a little bit of time?
And you can also include it as a bonus with something else you're selling, because bonuses are what make people on the fence decide to buy.
But that countdown timer is relentless, and after tonight the price doubles, so now's the time to grab it:
