Last year I recommended Matt McWilliams' excellent book Turn Your Passions into Profits, a book I bought four copies of (one for each of my older daughters).

Have I had a change of heart already?

No way.

But:

Not everything is for everyone.

Maybe you don't relish building an audience, learning email marketing, things like that. That's what the business model that Matt and I follow requires.

If that isn't for you, then I have something else that probably is, and it involves the biggest platform in the world.

What it doesn't involve: creating products, selling them yourself, or even driving traffic to them.

In fact, I’m going to be completely blunt about it. What I'm urging you to check out is the exact opposite of "follow your passion." It is, in a sense, anti-passionate. It’s a pure numbers game. It’s more a math equation than anything, and it’s mostly plus, minus, multiplication and division stuff.

You almost surely won't be dealing in anything that excites you. But this version of Amazon selling is so profitable, I’ve never seen so many beginning online marketers do so well with it so quickly. That's what got my attention and convinced me to share it with people who rely on me for good advice.

Some people may be turned off by this somewhat cold approach to business. You won’t get testimonials from grateful customers talking about how you changed their lives. They won’t even know you, your name or even what you look like. 
 

You will not get invited to speak at huge events, and no one will want to take a selfie with you.

Your face and your personality are irrelevant to this. You will be completely unknown. It is an introvert's dream.

You'll be happy succeeding in the background, quietly, without fanfare.

And did I say there was no passion in it? Let me amend that. I dare say you'll become pretty darn passionate about it when the checks start coming in the mail.

USA Today has said that Amazon sellers represent the single largest growth sector of first-generation business millionaires. I am not promising that you will be one of them. I am saying that the numbers don't lie.
