We know people like free things, so how can we use this knowledge to our advantage?

It seems like a paradox: how can we make people's attachment to free actually pay?

Answer: use bonuses.

Free bonuses are very, very good at pushing people off the fence.

I can't tell you how many times people told me: I bought item X just to get your bonus.

Here's an example:

That's not a full-blown bonus, because not every attendee receives it. It's more of a prize. But it still works to increase attendance if you run webinars or other live events.
