We talk a lot about affiliate marketing on this
list, so I thought you might be interested in a little story about the seedy underside of it.
There is a massive scandal brewing in the way gold companies take advantage of libertarian and conservative buyers.
They use extraordinary enticements to get our podcasters and other influencers to promote their gold offerings: affiliate commissions and rewards that are so
extravagant they seem too good to be true.
That's because they are.
Unfortunately, certain influencers see only dollar signs, and don't ask any questions.
But the fact is this: honest gold companies earn a modest markup on their gold. There is no way an honest company can pay affiliates what these shyster companies are paying them.
Those of you in the precious metal business, and I know I have a handful on this list, will back me up on this.
It turns out that the shyster companies are doing things like selling "collectible" bullion coins to retirees at nearly double the market's spot prices.
If you can live with that on your conscience, then go ahead and collect
those insane affiliate commissions.
I do earn a (small) commission when people buy their gold through my Battalion Metals link, but everyone involved can sleep at night, and I'm thereby connecting my readers to a genuine and honest company.
