If you were one of the thousands of people who
attended my 2000th episode event in 2021, or one of the tens of thousands who watched it online, you will recall that a magician sawed me in half that night.
I am happy to say that I have made a full recovery.
That magician, of course, was the immensely talented Doc Dixon, who apart from being a great magician is a wonderful and charming person whom I have been very happy to
know for the past six years.
I don't want to know how any of his tricks are done. I did say to him once, though: if I were to find out the secret to one of them, I would want it to be this one (at which point I named one of his card tricks).
He responded: "The funny thing is, it would take about 30 seconds to explain how that trick is done -- but 20 years to master actually
doing it."
Doc reads these emails, which he has very generously called "a daily lesson in marketing." Doc follows the same model I recommend in many of these emails: he has an email list he built with a valuable free giveaway, and then he sells things to the list.
His niche, of course, is magic, and his audience is composed of magicians.
It warms my heart to receive one of Doc's emails, because I am happy to see him supplementing his living with the exact strategy I have taught again and again.
Well, I'm happy to announce -- and this news is so hot off the presses that it isn't even on the website yet -- that Doc will be performing for us aboard the next Tom Woods Cruise!
How can these things get any better, for heaven's sake?
