Both are accomplished authors and academics, and they host FreedomFest together every year. Mark has been publishing his Forecasts & Strategies investment newsletter since 1980.
Mark and I don't always agree, but that is part of what makes the dinners so
stimulating.
Mark wrote after we got home, "There's always so much to talk about--philosophy, current events, travels, religion, personalities, etc. It's an epicurean delight!"
I want to share with you a story Mark told me last night.
He was having dinner at the home of, let's just say, a very influential person. As he got ready to leave, he gave this person a copy of one of his books.
Shortly thereafter, Mark was surprised to come across an enthusiastic review of the book in a major publication.
In turn, a professor at Columbia Business School saw
the review, contacted Mark, and asked him to deliver a guest lecture.
Mark delivered the lecture, upon the conclusion of which this professor told him that he was looking to retire, and that he thought Mark would make a top candidate to replace him.
And guess what: before long, Mark was a professor at Columbia Business School.
Imagine that! What a story about how one thing can lead to another, and then another.
Associate with the right people, and seize opportunities, and things can happen.
Well, here's my punchline: these kinds of things happen all the
time inside my School of Life.
Just a month or two ago the School of Life generated another wedding: that is to say, we have another couple who met in our community, and they are getting married next month.
Others are making professional connections that are opening doors they didn't even know were there.
I will
tell you up front: there is a monthly fee involved.
But the fee is a pittance compared to the value of this community. Yesterday, for example, I told my other newsletter that in under three years I turned $300K into $607K by investing in a fund managed by someone who made a presentation to our community.
Why not take us for a spin and see what you think? Even if you hate it (you would hate it only if you have brain damage, but still), you can keep these 11 pretty nice things for free, forever:
