Speaking of milestones, Elizabeth celebrated her 16th birthday one week ago today. We'll tell Elizabeth stories another time, although I'll say she gave us a scare for a while with "failure to thrive" as an infant. We had to keep a close eye on her weight to make sure she was gaining rather than losing.
And because we were dealing in ounces, the Mises Institute generously lent us its postage scale during the weekends so we could monitor her weight precisely.
Well, like anyone, I want what's best for them, I intend to look out for them even after they leave home, and I'm going to teach them stuff I've learned that will help them not struggle the way many of their peers surely will.
Those of you who followed me in investing in Larry Lepard's fund, for example, already know that the fund increased by another 11.28 percent just last month alone. It's nearly tripled our money at this point.
So I've told my girls: I'm very lucky that my travels and career have given me an opportunity to meet extraordinary people like Larry, learn some very important things, and have
access to some highly valuable opportunities -- and as your father I intend to pass them on to you. (They already know about Larry's fund.)
I was lucky to learn these things in the first place, and they'll be lucky their dad can teach these things to them.
I have a friend whose family member needed a life-saving drug many years ago. The only way he could get
it was if the president of the United States himself intervened. He happened to be well connected enough that that in fact happened: the president made a phone call and the family member got the drug.
That's a great story but also a tragic one: lucky for him he could access the president, but what about anyone else in that situation?
So although I am going to
teach it to my children, on Tuesday of this week I'll remove luck from the equation entirely and share it with all of you, too: here's a low-stress way to monetize those gadgets (laptop computers, phones, etc.) that most of the time are actually draining your wallet and increasing your stress level, that you can learn and implement -- and without having to be tethered to a boss.
So this week you don't have to be a member of the Woods household to get a Woods-household-level briefing and
training.
I'm offering it for free, but there's one catch: no replay. You have to be there live.
Register now, because this is hot stuff:
