This could be a sore
spot.
But I'll bet there's someone in your family -- or at least in your circle of acquaintances -- who always seems to have some new scheme, and it never pans out.
Like Ralph Kramden on The Honeymooners. Whether it was no-cal pizza, a hair restorer that didn't work, a hot dog stand underneath an elevated highway, or a uranium field in Asbury Park, he was always ready to
throw his money away, hoping to get rich.
On the other hand, we also know the lazy bum. The lazy bum calls you up only when he needs money.
You know how the conversation goes. He's so darn interested in how you're doing. But by minute three, it's on to him -- this time he's really going to put himself together. Really.
He just needs $500.
Both make you want to run the other way.
A good way not to chase wild schemes, or to be a parasite on others, is to have a tried-and-true plan that you work at methodically.
And not a bogus hair restorer. Something real. Something
awesome.
