We've all heard it.
All publicity is good publicity.
I don't buy it, and never have.
Was it good publicity for Congressman Steve King when he was called a white supremacist?
Was it good publicity when the Virginia governor's yearbook photo was made public?
Yet people say we shouldn't discuss Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez because all publicity is good publicity.
That's ridiculous.
The fact is, lots of people claim to support her Green New Deal.
Far fewer support it when they find out what's in it.
So you're darn right we should get out there and talk about her and her plan, for the sake of letting people know how absurd and destructive it is.
That would indeed be bad publicity for her.
However, there is one related principle I will accept: all publicity is good publicity for the Woods New Deal.
Now come on, you have to admit it: contrasting the Green New Deal with my Woods New Deal has been a clever trope this week.
At midnight Eastern, though, it goes away forever, and you'll never know what it was all about.
For the sake of everything decent, don't let that happen:
Tom Woods
