Folks, we really are governed by
loons.
Senator Ed Markey, one of the brains (if we can call it that) behind the "Green New Deal," is outraged that Senator Mitch McConnell wants a vote on the resolution calling for this plan.
He's calling it a "Republican trick."
Well, it's not a trick, but for the reasons I mentioned yesterday, it certainly is clever, and effective.
Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) insinuated today that he knew from the start that the Republicans would respond this way to this kind of resolution.
Other Democrats are squirming in various ways.
Especially in energy-centric states.
What fun!
The original New Deal, meanwhile, is still with us -- along with the propaganda about how it got the country out of the Depression, even though it didn't. (Double-digit unemployment persisted throughout the 1930s.)
The Woods New Deal, by contrast, will simply disappear tomorrow night.
Whoever wants to be helped -- really helped, not government-program helped -- should get it ASAP.
You'll be like a kid in a candy store when you dig in to all the stuff I'm giving you.
Except you'll be a kid who gets regular PayPal payment notifications.
Be that kid.
