This one takes the cake.
A professor in Brigham Young University's History 220 (US History Through 1877) distributed notes explaining to students why we need government.
Evidently one thing we need government for is to protect us from genocide -- which these very notes admit is carried out by government.
Forget that the following passage, in both style and content, reads like a sixth-grade book report by a kid who didn't even read the book.
Just read:
"What if someone wanted to get rid of everyone that belonged to your race or religion? One glance around the world in our own times shows us that this happens often. The crimes Hitler committed against those he didn’t approve of in World War II spring quickly to mind. But that’s not the end of it by a long shot. Millions were killed in the last half of the twentieth century in Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda, and the Middle East. Yet we are more stable in our country
because if something like this ever starts, the government stops it and has enough power to do something about it."
Yes, it's evidently possible to be that indoctrinated.
Thanks to Pete Raymond (known until recently as Mance Rayder) for reminding me of this doozy on Twitter just now.
Here's another thing we don't need government for: making an honest living.
This guy, Tim Verdouw -- who's become a friend, I'm proud to say -- decided: I want the laptop lifestyle, and I'm going to learn what I need to learn and do what I need to do to get it.
Does that sound like you?
Well, Tim's a darn good teacher, and this is by far my favorite low-cost course.
The Woods discount expires tomorrow (Thursday) morning, so get your hands on it while the gettin's good:
