Jonathan Haidt of NYU has found that
in general, progressives don't understand conservatives (or libertarians, for that matter) nearly as well as conservatives understand them.
That's pretty obvious.
I can explain the entire progressive worldview to you without snark or dismissiveness, and I can explain precisely why progressives favor each plank.
Can progressives do the same for my views?
In my experience, they're barely able to concede that their opponents are even human.
So they tend not to spend much time figuring out what the other side is saying.
The other side, after all, is a bunch of "racists" and "sexists" who don't deserve to exist, and whose economic views show them to be lackeys of the so-called idle rich.
So I never hear progressives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even address the possibility that the programs they favor could hurt the people they supposedly want to help. There is no acknowledgment of trade-offs, unintended consequences, or indeed any drawbacks whatever to the programs they propose.
The only drawback they can see is for the super rich, who will have to enjoy fewer yachts.
Dumb.
Of course, there are bad consequences to pretty much everything Ocasio-Cortez favors, but I find no evidence that she is even aware that this is a major argument against her.
She seems to think that the argument against her alleged advocacy for the poor is: let them eat cake.
Unfortunately, redistributionist views like hers are on the rise.
All the more reason to make sure you jump on Money Revealed, a nine-episode documentary series featuring 36 self-made millionaires and billionaires who actually understand the economy, and who will also share insights into their own success and where they invested their dough.
Plenty of good libertarians are represented among the interviewees, which is all the more reason to watch.
Ryan Daniel Moran, entrepreneur and two-time Tom Woods Show guest, tells me he's "pumped" about Money Revealed, in which he is one of the people interviewed.
A great way to become a better chess player is to analyze the games of masters.
A great way to become more successful as an entrepreneur is to listen to successful entrepreneurs and analyze their plans of attack.
If you're 100% thrilled about where you are right now, don't waste your time.
If you have even a bit of uneasiness, this is for you.
The whole series will be available for free during the launch week, so make sure and opt in before 9:00pm tonight (Tuesday, April 23) so you can watch at no cost:
