I've told the story before, but in
kindergarten the teacher told my parents I may be "mildly retarded."
Evidence for this: I couldn't do basic things other kids did.
I couldn't skip, for instance.
(Why a boy would want to skip is a mystery to me to this day.)
I'll never forget my extended family skipping across my grandmother's living room the next day to teach me, as I sat horrified in the corner.
Another thing: I couldn't draw. I didn't draw hands on my people.
In fact, I drew my people with their hands behind their backs, so I could avoid having to draw hands. I thought that was clever.
Whenever I hear "print on demand," I am reminded of my general ineptness as an artist. I can't make designs, so print on demand isn't for me.
Well, who says you have to make designs? A whole bunch of my listeners have been taking a much simpler, minimalist approach, and it's been working great.
Why do they like it?
(1) They never have to touch anything.
(2) They never have to hold any inventory.
(3) They need no special skills -- design, techie web stuff, whatever.
(4) Unlike some online income streams, it's easy to explain to their friends.
Not only do a bunch of my folks do this already, but as I've mentioned, one recently started a whole podcast about it. He wrote to tell me, "Last Christmas, I earned $25,000 on Amazon in just 30 days" using this exact system, "which you promoted. Right now I'm earning around $4,000 a month on the regular."
Naturally I can't guarantee you those results. Maybe you'll watch the training and never act on it. But it's a great entry point into that extra income stream because while you're doing it you're learning a whole lot about the various aspects of selling online, and there's no way that won't serve you well.
But you have to take that first step.
Which is:
