The Internet in 2019 is crowded. This is no time to be like everyone else. When a major change like this is made -- a change that will blindside almost everyone -- you need to pounce.
(Yes, yes, I know we don't like Google, but plenty of people searching for what you have to offer sure do, so you'd better make sure you're appearing high in the search results.)
The flip side of not getting killed is that your competitors will get killed, and you'll be like Godzilla rampaging around the Internet.
