We need to
stop the infighting, people say.
I'm all for that, as long as the emotional hypochondriacs quit calling good libertarians Nazis.
The great comedian Dave Smith just won an Oxford-style debate against Nicholas Sarwark, chairman of the Libertarian National Committee. There's been plenty of ill will between the two sides represented there. They had a spirited though not nasty debate, and that's a good thing.
Personally, I think it's obviously the case that libertarians should work together, and at the very least not be fighting with each other. If we're against the state, but some of us happen to have different emphases from others, there's no reason we should be hurling career-destroying smears at each other.
Unfortunately, that seems unlikely to change.
(There's plenty of infighting among conservatives and liberals, I might add, so we're not unique in this regard.)
So it's true: you and I can't make libertarians all work together.
But:
You and I can work together.
