OK, let's be
blunt. I was a nerd.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
But my interests were vastly different from everyone else's. And I wasn't exactly Mr. Popularity.
That's why I find it funny when someone on Facebook gushes over having had the opportunity to talk to me, or get a picture taken with me, or get a book signed by me. Some of my former classmates are Facebook friends of mine, and they must see this.
And believe me: in those days there wasn't exactly a stampede to talk to the old man here.
My point:
I did not emerge from the womb with a large and loyal audience -- the key to success these days.
I had to work at it. Hard.
It turns out, there's a method.
My friend Jason Stapleton -- who has defended me vigorously against unjust and juvenile attacks, I might add -- is the expert.
He's prepared some videos, which cost you nothing, on how to persuade, how to influence, and how to build a personal brand that attracts that loyal (and, yes, lucrative) audience.
