Even a cynic like me was unprepared for the powers the state would suddenly assume.
For one thing, if you're declared "nonessential," you can simply be shut down.
Andrew Cuomo told the frustrated unemployed that they could just go get jobs as "essential workers."
Um, how about no?
I have a better idea.
Even if what you do is in some respect "nonessential" (i.e., we wouldn't die instantly without it), I have a way you can continue without being shut down.
What if you had no employer or brick-and-mortar business that was subject to a shutdown?
What if you made things -- like simple coffee mugs -- and sold them on one of the "essential" websites?
Then there would be nothing for them to shut down, and you just continue on your merry way.
Why not have that as your side business for if and when the state ever does this to us again?
A huge contingent of Tom Woods Show listeners have been doing this for several years now. They've all been taught by the same person -- Tom Woods Show guest Rachel Rofe -- and their success stories and screenshots are right there on her sales page.
Join me this for a detailed, step-by-step presentation with Rachel, who will take you through all kinds of free resources you can use to create things people love.
You may say to me: Woods, I can't create anything.
Yes, you can! Do I really have more confidence in you than you do?
These are print-on-demand products -- again, with particular emphasis on coffee mugs -- so they don't even get created until someone orders them. That means you don't have to spend anything on (or even hold any) inventory.
And of course you're not manufacturing the mugs. You're just telling a print-on-demand company what to write on a mug.
See why it's so much easier to do stuff like this in 2020 than 1957?
One little witty line, often with people passionate about a certain niche in mind, and you have a product people really do buy. I promise.
