Mid-level employees are usually dispensable, and often get the ax during times of uncertainty and economic weakness.
I'd say that describes the present moment pretty well.
So how can you avoid the ax?
By starting your own "industry expert" blog site -- yet another of the many ways having your own blog can help you.
Almost no one else will do this. You will become viewed as a leader in your industry. Or focus very specifically on what your company does, and become the undisputed leader in your niche.
No one in his right mind is going to give an industry leader a pink slip.
Start by summarizing relevant articles, with a link to each article.
Then move on to book reviews.
And then, eventually, your own original content.
No one else will do this. That's because almost no one ever takes action. You will.
And I'll help.
First, I have a video showing you how to be up and running with your own blog five minutes from this very second.
Second, I have a private bloggers' group where we help each other. You'll be glad you have this.
Third, I have a couple of dozen short, to-the-point video tutorials that will help you master the tech side in no time flat. (There's very little you need to know, but if you want to use lots of neat features nobody else knows about, here's how.)
All this, and how you can get it, can be found here:
