The small music venues in my area, as I’m sure in yours, are in desperate shape.
The hashtag #saveourstages can be found all over the place. It’s a reference to small venues’ appeal for federal aid to keep them from having to close their doors.
If they were simply allowed to open their doors again, to whichever patrons feel comfortable attending, that would go a long way toward solving their problems. But for now, all they can see as a way out is some kind of federal rescue measure.
I feel for them. I love these venues. It’s killing me to see what’s happening to them.
At the same time, I thank my lucky stars that I’m not in a position in which I have to depend on the indulgence of state and federal officials in order to make my living and not have my dreams – and everything I’ve spent my life working for – destroyed.
We’ve been in the twenty-first century for two decades now, yet most people have not realized the true potential of the world they inhabit. They’re still working, or launching a side hustle, like it’s 1977.
Then when they encounter the 0.08 percent of people who use the 21st-century tools that businessmen and marketers 30 years ago would have sacrificed their grandmothers to an Aztec god for, they almost refuse to believe it.
Well, believe it.
When I describe the various ways I put food on my table, it’s like I have three heads. Nobody knows such things are possible.
Yes, it takes work – if it didn’t, it would be BS and not worth your time. But when you hit that winning campaign and you watch the results in real time, well, there’s no feeling like it.
This presentation comes down in 48 hours. I think you should take the time to watch.
And really, really think about it:
