It’s a tie between Joe Biden and Doris Kearns Goodwin.
You youngsters will have forgotten that Joe Biden first ran for president decades ago. He had to drop out when it was revealed that he had plagiarized some of his speeches.
He’s running again because, hey, he copied those speeches a long time ago.
Goodwin is the Establishment’s favorite historian. She writes fawning treatments – hagiographies, really – of American presidents. She seeks to inspire awe of the empire.
So when she was found guilty of plagiarism, you knew she wouldn’t be gone long. The regime and its media hangers-on love and need her too much.
I myself have never copied anyone, because that’s stupid and dishonest.
But that doesn’t mean I haven’t learned from others and modeled what I do after them.
When I designed the Supporting Listeners program for my podcast, I studied two other major podcasters’ supporters programs and made notes of features I liked. Since then I’ve looked up people I like on Patreon (before it went to the dark side) and taken note of the various benefits they offer their supporters.
For my Liberty Classroom I studied other services that delivered educational materials.
When I started my libertarian email newsletter I didn’t study what the best people were doing, and so for years my newsletter accomplished nothing for me at all. I couldn’t understand why people kept singing the praises of email marketing. It accomplished nothing for me.
That’s because…
…I had no idea what I was doing.
Then I began to study the masters – and what do you know? All of a sudden it worked. That’s an understatement: man, did it work.
Lesson:
Don’t reinvent the wheel.
You’ll waste your time and money.
Instead:
Learn what works, and use that as a model.
Here’s what works:
