I've tried my best to be a source of rationality in the midst of all the COVID hysteria.
I cannot believe the misinformation and panic everywhere. The police in the UK just announced that they will be breaking up Christmas dinners that are in violation of their crazy decrees.
How anyone is putting up with this is beyond me.
There are other concerns in the world apart from this virus -- one of them being not living a dehumanized existence.
But I did get one thing very wrong.
On my podcast I more than once predicted that business formation would take a hit -- because who wants to start a business at a time when arbitrary restrictions and shutdowns are being imposed everywhere?
Was I ever wrong.
Business creation is actually through the roof, to my amazement.
I think that's because people are trying to create something to protect themselves better against the unknown. So I suspect the kinds of businesses being created reflect that.
If they're breaking up Christmas dinners, they're not going to hesitate to break up what puts food on your table.
But:
Excitement and determination aren't enough.
You need knowledge.
A very particular kind of knowledge.
