Over on my other email list, I've been sending my usual boatload of Black Friday weekend emails.
And I've had a handful, though thankfully only a handful, of complaints.
Woods, don't email me so much!
For a solid two weeks I reminded people that I email heavily over Black Friday weekend, and that if this is too much for them they should simply delete the emails or unsubscribe altogether. (They are very good emails, by the way.)
But no matter what you do, you get the complaints as if you hadn't sent this notice day after day for two weeks.
The way I look at it is this.
All year long I churn out free content in extraordinary abundance. Five podcast episodes every single week. My email newsletters. My occasional videos and public speaking. My free ebooks.
In return, all I ask is that my subscribers tolerate a single weekend of heavy email. Deleting the various emails would take by my estimate a total of approximately 20 seconds over the course of the entire weekend.
If the content I generate for free isn't worth 20 seconds of somebody's time, I'm not going to miss that person if he unsubscribes. If anything, I'm glad he's gone. He's taking up space on my list that I have to pay for.
With regard to the emails themselves, trust me when I say I know what I'm doing. If my small business grosses over $200,000 in a weekend and we lose 200 subscribers, that's an exchange I'm willing to make. I offer an excellent product that I am very proud of, and I'm not ashamed to promote it heavily during the biggest shopping weekend of the year.
As Ben Settle says, don't play not to lose. Play to win.
That's what I'm doing.
And so should you.
Now the gurus will tell you not to email so much. Go ahead and listen to them if you want to be unsuccessful.
If, by contrast, you're comfortable bucking the conventional wisdom like me, then I have one final appeal for you before Cyber Monday ends.
Omar and Melinda Martin have an extraordinary coaching program that's absurdly inexpensive that will help get all your questions answered and guide you with truly sound advice, not BS from so-called gurus who have never earned a cent online in their lives.
Their offer ends tonight, and it's an unbelievable offer. Someone will be there to help you in your ventures in perpetuity -- what is that worth to you?
And as a bonus, I'll hop on with you, one-on-one, for a 30-minute strategy session where you can ask me anything you want.
I will not be doing this again at any time in 2021.
If you want in on this bonus, pick up Omar and Melinda's offer before the clock strikes midnight tonight. Then just forward me your receipt.
