In June of last year I released my second eBook in a three-week period, this one on the problems with the police and what some non-Maoist solutions might be.
The "defund the police" movement that had been gaining traction back then had been nothing but confusion.
The president of the Minneapolis City Council said she looked forward to a "police-free future," and when asked what people should do if their homes were invaded, well, maybe it's about time they got a taste of how the marginalized feel.
Then a post circulated around Facebook clarifying that "#DefundThePolice" didn't mean the police wouldn't be funded. They would be funded.
Um...what?
Over on Twitter, someone told Eric July, "The problem is that you don't understand defunding police does not mean we don't have a taxpayer-funded replacement."
To which I replied, "But, see, we want to defund your taxpayer-funded replacement -- one of us has to actually defund something around here."
I'm a troublemaker; what can I say.
Now I suppose releasing two eBooks in a three-week period probably exhausts you just thinking about it.
I did it because there had been two crucial topics -- the lockdowns and the protests -- during that period, and by releasing information that people are looking for while the iron is still hot I could do some good while at the same time building my email list and thereby strengthening my business.
It turns out there's a very quick way to produce reports and eBooks that doesn't involve hiring freelancers or committing atrocities.
It's the amazing Sqribble, which is your secret weapon.
Pump them out left and right without having to hire anyone, learn annoying tech, or any of that stuff.
