Well, 2021 has been pretty rough for ol' Woods's health.
First it was the ridiculous fall I took, and then it was the excruciating back pain (that I inadvertently brought on myself). And this week the emails from me on both lists have been light because I've had a cold -- which usually isn't so bad, but until today I've been exhausted.
Still getting five podcast episodes out this week, of course.
And one of them is with Adam Schneider, who joins me to report on the lockdown regime in Canada. In Ontario, he says, you can't even buy baby clothes, for whatever reason.
With the exception of last summer, when restrictions were lifted a bit, he says it's been a very grim year there.
In an email to me, though, he added this: "The only thing that has saved my mental health is that I have been building a life and a business that no one can take away from me."
(Because he's now an eCommerce expert, Adam created the online store for the Libertarian Party's Mises Caucus, by the way.)
In the episode Adam thanked me for this, because it was by following my advice that he was able to get where he is now.
Well, here's my advice right now:
Start thinking of yourself as a creator, as someone who has something to share with the world.
And make that into a membership, which means stable, recurring income.
I've given you a whole bunch of examples of memberships that you already belong to, and there are many thousands if not tens of thousands of memberships out there for every interest you can think of.
The world's foremost expert on this -- as in, I challenge you to find me someone who knows more about it -- is the outstanding Stu McLaren.
The third and final day of Stu's once-a-year workshop is tomorrow (Thursday), and when you register right now you can watch the recordings from the first two days right away.
I've already had several readers contact me to say they've started memberships of their own -- even before the third session has even taken place.
They're all women, interestingly enough. Trust me, men: you, too, can build memberships. You have something to share with the world. Don't let that stupid voice inside your head tell you otherwise.
I am leading you to water, my friend.
Drink:
